Something has changed in the spiritual atmosphere. You're praying as you've always prayed, using words that once felt powerful, following spiritual pathways that used to lead to breakthrough. But something's different now. The familiar landmarks have vanished. The tried-and-true approaches seem inadequate for 2025's unprecedented challenges. You know you should know how to navigate this moment in prayer, but the disorienting truth is settling in: the old maps don't work for new territory.
It reminds me of the story in Acts 27 where Paul finds himself on a ship caught in a violent storm. For fourteen days, neither sun nor stars appeared. The sailors—professional navigators who relied on celestial bodies to determine their position—were completely lost. Without these reference points, they had no idea where they were or which direction to go.
I think many people are feeling that same disorientation today. Our traditional reference points have disappeared in the storm of rapid technological advancement and global upheaval. We're adrift, and our familiar ways of praying often leave us feeling like we're simply reacting to each new wave rather than charting a clear course forward.
But here's what struck me profoundly as Dr. Faisal and I explored this passage in our recent AI Update:
Paul didn't just survive the storm—he completely changed its outcome.
Most of us have been taught to pray reactively—we see something troubling and pray against it. We witness a problem and ask God to fix it. There's nothing inherently wrong with this approach, but in times of unprecedented change, it may not be enough.
Paul shows us a different way.
While everyone else on that ship was reacting to the chaos, Paul positioned himself differently. Instead of frantically trying to control the uncontrollable, he aligned his heart with Jesus and received divine intelligence that ultimately saved 276 lives.
This is Apostello Intercession, and I believe it's the prayer blueprint we need for these accelerated times.
Apostello Intercession operates from a fundamentally different starting point than traditional forms of prayer:
The world doesn't need more people who can predict storms. It needs people who can change their outcomes.
What's fascinating about Paul's story is that he initially predicted disaster. Before the journey began, he warned that it would "end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also our lives" (Acts 27:10). But through his alignment with Christ and apostolic intercession, what began as a prophecy of doom transformed into a testimony of divine deliverance.
This is crucial for us to understand in 2025. Many are prophesying what will go wrong in our rapidly changing world. But who is willing to pray and make a difference?
The spiritual atmosphere has changed. So I'm challenging you today: Will you merely navigate the storm, or will you change its outcome? Will you continue with familiar prayers that feel increasingly inadequate, or will you align your heart afresh with Christ's and receive divine intelligence for this moment?
The disorientation you're feeling isn't a sign to retreat—it's an invitation to advance in prayer.
